This session is really about measurement, metrics, benchmarking, etc.
Hosts: Billy Grayson (wgrayson@icf.com) Kartherine Mowers (kmowers@citidc.com) Here's a list of env. & social metrics the group is using or would like to see used: 1. GHG 2. waste 3. water 4. energy & fuel 5. overtime 6. job ceation 7. volunteer hours 8. shares donated 9. health / sick days 10. diversity 11. education Lot's of discussion about GHG metrics (scope 1,2 3, CDP, etc.) What do we think of certifications? (ISO, GRI, etc.) What's the difference between reporting metrics & management metrics? What are the best public facing metrics? Are CSR reports just fluff? We need to get to a shorter set of metrics that can be more easily compared. Ashoka measures how many times an entrepreneur's work has been replicated by others. Need to make metrics tangible & actionable. That's why waste is easier than GHGs.
