Green Chemistry, Green Washing, Geo-Engineering.

Intent of this session:
Focus on unintended consequences of introducing new "Green" chemicals to consumer products. Discuss unintended consequences of green marketing, or green "washing". Unintended consequences of geo-engineering our environment.

Discussion:
Importance of understanding chemistry, life cycle analysis, and "Systems Thinking" which ultimately fosters an understanding and limiting unintended consequences.

Example: Food production in India switched to western style of agriculture. Fertilizer intensive, and modern irrigation. Now India has a water shortage problem.

Questions:
What are the barriers to systems thinking? - people are not educated on systems thinking (Grade school level).

Need to develop an a way to foster this understanding broadly.
